Bulk Import via ZIP

Instead of creating knowledge bases one by one, you can import multiple knowledge bases at once by uploading a ZIP archive. This is especially useful when you have many knowledge bases prepared for an agent.

Quick Start

  1. Go to Knowledge Base in the sidebar
  2. Click "Import ZIP"
  3. Drop your ZIP archive into the upload area
  4. Review and edit the parsed results
  5. Click "Import"

ZIP Archive Structure

Simple Structure (Single Agent)

Place all KB files and a TRIGGERS.md file in the root of the archive:

Nested Structure (Multiple Agents)

You can organize knowledge bases into folders. Each folder is processed independently with its own TRIGGERS.md:

File Naming Rules

KB Files

KB files must start with KB followed by a number:

The text after the number is optional and only for your reference. The system uses the number to match KB files with their prompts in TRIGGERS.md.

TRIGGERS.md

The file must be named exactly TRIGGERS.md (case-insensitive). It contains prompts (descriptions) for each knowledge base.


KB File Format

Each KB file must be a Markdown file (.md) that starts with an H1 heading (# Title). This heading becomes the name of the knowledge base in the system.

If a KB file has no H1 heading, the filename will be used as the name instead. You'll see a warning and can edit it before importing.


TRIGGERS.md Format

TRIGGERS.md defines the prompt for each knowledge base. The prompt tells the AI agent when and how to use this knowledge base.

Structure

Each section starts with ## KB followed by the number (matching the KB file number). The text below becomes the prompt.

or what problems it solves.

## KB02
Pricing plans and billing: Free, Starter, Pro, Agency tiers with
credit amounts and per-minute rates. Use when the customer asks about
costs, plans, or how billing works.

## KB03
Agent setup guide: step-by-step instructions for creating and
configuring a voice agent. Use when the customer asks how to create
an agent, configure settings, or write a prompt.

Prompt Guidelines

Best Practices for Prompts
  • Be specific: Instead of "general information", write "platform features, supported integrations, and technical requirements"
  • Include trigger words: Mention the key topics that should activate this KB
  • Describe the purpose: Explain not just what's in the KB, but when the agent should use it

The dash between KB and the number is optional. Both KB01 and KB-01 refer to the same knowledge base.


Import Process

Step 1: Upload ZIP

Drag and drop your ZIP file into the upload area or click to browse. Maximum file size is 50 MB.

Step 2: Review

After uploading, you'll see a table with all parsed knowledge bases:

You can:

  • Edit any name or prompt before importing
  • Remove knowledge bases you don't want to import
  • Go back to upload a different ZIP

Step 3: Fix Warnings

If the system detects issues, you'll see yellow warnings:

The Import button is disabled until all names and prompts are filled in. Empty fields are highlighted in red.

Step 4: Import

Click "Import" to start uploading. A progress bar shows the upload status. Knowledge bases are created one by one.

After completion:

  • All successful: Modal closes, success notification appears
  • Some failed: Error notification shows how many succeeded vs. total

Tips

  • Agent identifier in H1: Add a tag like [sales] or [support] to H1 headings to easily identify which agent a KB belongs to when viewing them in the list
  • Numbering consistency: Use the same numbering in filenames and TRIGGERS.md (KB01 in filename = ## KB01 in TRIGGERS.md)
  • Test before importing: Check your archive contents before uploading to avoid having to fix multiple warnings
  • One agent per folder: When using nested structure, organize by agent for clarity
