resmio
Connect resmio so your voice agent can book tables directly into your reservation book while a guest is still on the phone — checking real availability and writing the reservation into resmio, with built-in protection against double-booking a table.
resmio is available on all plans including Free. There's no per-reservation fee — availability checks and bookings use a few words of LLM output per turn, billed at your normal per-minute rate.
What It Does
Once connected, the agent works with your live resmio reservation book:
- Checks table availability — it confirms whether a table is free for the requested time and party size before offering it.
- Books the table — it writes a confirmed reservation into resmio on the call, capturing the guest's name, party size, and any notes.
- Reschedules and cancels — guests can move or cancel a reservation without calling back and waiting for staff.
- Prevents double-booking — see Double-Booking Protection below.
When to Use resmio vs. a Plain Calendar
Both resmio and the Google / Outlook calendar tools let an agent take bookings. For a restaurant, resmio is almost always the right choice:
| Use resmio when… | Use Google/Outlook Calendar when… |
|---|---|
| You run a restaurant and take table reservations | You book fixed-length appointments, not tables |
| Bookings depend on party size and table capacity | A simple free/busy slot is all you need |
| Your floor and covers already live in resmio | You have no restaurant reservation system |
| You need reservations written into the same book your staff use | One shared calendar is enough |
If your reservation book lives in resmio, connect resmio so the agent books into the exact system your front-of-house team already works from.
Connecting resmio
The connection lives at the HANC account level — you authorise once, and every voice agent in your account can then use the resmio tool.
- Open Integrations in the sidebar and find the resmio card.
- Click Connect resmio.
- Authorise HANC to access your resmio account and follow the on-screen prompts to link it.
- Back in HANC, the integration card shows Connected.
Once connected, HANC reads your resmio setup so the agent knows your opening times and how your tables are configured.
Keep your resmio account details (and any API access your resmio plan provides) to hand before you start the connection.
Per-Agent Tool Configuration
Connecting resmio to your account makes the tool available. To actually use it, add the resmio tool to the agent's Actions tab.
Each agent can be configured independently — useful if you run a reservations line and a general enquiries line from the same resmio account.
For adding tools to an agent, see Voice Agents → Actions.
What the Agent Can Do on a Call
Once the tool is enabled, the agent can, mid-conversation:
- Offer real availability — "We have a table for four at 7:30 this evening — shall I book it?"
- Book the reservation into resmio and confirm it back to the guest.
- Reschedule an existing reservation to another available time.
- Cancel a reservation when the guest asks.
Example conversation:
Guest: "Do you have a table for two tonight around 8?"
Agent: [Checks resmio availability]
"Yes — 8:15 p.m. for two is available.
May I have a name for the reservation?"
Guest: "Under Klein, please."
Agent: [Writes the reservation into resmio]
"Booked — a table for two at 8:15 under Klein.
We look forward to seeing you."
Double-Booking Protection
Before it confirms anything, the agent re-checks the table against resmio's live availability. If the table fills between the moment it was offered and the moment it's confirmed — or two guests ask for the same slot — resmio's booking rules block the conflict, so the same table is never reserved twice. The agent offers the next available time instead.
Disconnecting
You can disconnect resmio at any time from the Integrations page. When you disconnect:
- The resmio tool stops firing on every agent that used it.
- Reservations already written into resmio are not changed or removed.
Reconnect later and your agents can pick up right where they left off.
